A fatal shooting broke out Tuesday night at a small Renton grocery store, killing one person, the Renton Police Department confirmed.
The shooting happened after 9:30 p.m. on N.E. 4th Street in Renton at a Mexican grocery store across from the cemetery. When Renton police officers arrived at the scene of the shooting, they found one person dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
“The suspect and victim were in a business when they began to argue, which turned into a physical altercation,” the Renton Police Department stated. “The suspect then allegedly shot the victim multiple times. The suspect fled in a vehicle, abandoned the car after a short distance, and ran away.”
Renton police used King County’s Guardian 1 helicopter and a K9 unit to track the suspect. After detectives interviewed witnesses and examined nearby surveillance video, a suspect was identified. The suspect was arrested shortly afterward.
“A suspect is in custody in connection with the homicide in the 3700 block of NE 4th St,” the Renton Police Department wrote.
