A 31-year-old man is in serious condition following a shooting that took place Monday afternoon in West Seattle.
The shooting happened at 27th Avenue SW and SW Cambridge Street, where first responders found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his arm and leg. Police said that paramedics took the man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
The Seattle Police Department (SPD) reported that more than 20 shell casings were discovered at the scene, according to KIRO 7. Officers are actively investigating the area and speaking with witnesses to gather information about the suspect.
“It’s scary,” an anonymous neighbor told KIRO Newsradio. “I mean, broad daylight. There’s elderly across the street. There’s families, just everyday people. It’s just scary.”
Authorities have not yet determined a motive for the shooting and have not released any information about a possible suspect.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Seattle Police Department.
