55-year-old man found fatally stabbed in van in Seattle’s SODO neighborhood

A fatal stabbing took place Monday evening in Seattle’s SODO neighborhood, the Seattle Police Department (SPD) confirmed.
A 55-year-old man was found stabbed to death inside his van that was parked near 6th Avenue S. and S. Massachusetts Street.
A friend of the victim was doing a wellness check when the man was found in his van, according to KIRO 7. The friend flagged down a transit police officer to report the stabbing.
“Despite all life-saving efforts performed by KCSO deputies, the victim succumbed to his injuries,” SPD stated. “The Seattle Fire Department pronounced the man deceased at the scene.”
The search for a suspect is underway.
