Seattle Police seize 5 grams of crack cocaine during multiple Belltown drug busts

A proactive patrol from the Seattle Police Department (SPD) led to multiple arrests for possessing and distributing crack cocaine in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.

First crack cocaine-related arrest in Belltown

Both arrests happened on April 9, with the first occurring near Second Avenue and Blanchard Street just after 8 a.m. Officers, while on a bike patrol, witnessed a man taking money and providing a different man with a white rock believed to be crack cocaine. The suspect, 33, was arrested for narcotics delivery just a few weeks earlier in the same location.

When he was arrested again, he had 3.6 grams of crack cocaine in his possession.

Second crack cocaine-related arrest in Belltown

Mere minutes later, officers, continuing their proactive bike patrols, witnessed another suspect conduct a drug deal. The suspect, 32, was near Third Avenue and Bell Street at approximately 8:30 a.m. when he went behind a white van, taking cash from another man in exchange for a white substance wrapped in a baggie that officers believed was, once again, crack cocaine.

SPD officers arrested the man while he was conducting another alleged drug deal. During a search, they found the suspect had more than $1,500 in cash as well as 1.3 grams of crack cocaine in his possession.

Both suspects were booked into the King County Jail. In total, SPD officers recovered nearly five grams of crack cocaine alongside more than $1,600 during proactive patrols.
