The Tacoma Police Department arrested a third suspect in connection with a deadly shooting earlier this month in the city’s North End.
At approximately 2 a.m. on Aug. 7, officers were called to the 2100 block of N. 30th Street in Tacoma for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began lifesaving measures until Tacoma Fire Department personnel arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both detectives and crime scene technicians began investigating the case as a homicide.
While officers were still on scene, they were notified that an adult male with a gunshot wound had arrived at a local hospital. As the investigation unfolded, detectives determined that the man was connected to the shooting and developed probable cause for his arrest. Once he was medically cleared, he was booked into the Pierce County Jail for first-degree murder and first-degree robbery.
As the investigation continued, detectives identified a second suspect. On Aug. 12, a juvenile male was taken into custody without incident and booked into Remann Hall for first-degree murder.
Then, on Tuesday, detectives developed probable cause to arrest the third suspect in the case. An adult male was taken into custody and booked into the Pierce County Jail for first-degree murder.
Tacoma police said the case remains an active investigation. Anyone with information related to the shooting or the suspects involved is urged to contact the Tacoma Police Department.
