A Thurston County suspect was arrested Tuesday after strangling an individual that was met online through a phone app.
The two individuals in Lacey met in person, and after spending some time together, the suspect asked the victim for a ride home, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) confirmed.
The victim drove the suspect to a random neighborhood where the suspect did not live, and the suspect began to strangle the victim.
Suspect reportedly found intoxicated nearby
The victim was able to escape and call 911. TCSO noted there were visible marks around the victim’s neck.
A homeowner later called 911 and reported an unknown male found hiding in the bushes in his backyard, appearing to be under the influence.
TCSO deputies took the suspect into custody without the use of force.
The suspect was taken to the TCSO jail for the alleged assault.
