Several law enforcement units responded to a burglary in progress at a lumber yard in Tumwater on Saturday, where a suspect with 15 prior arrests was taken into custody again.

The Tumwater and Olympia Police Departments, along with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), responded to the scene, where a Tumwater officer spotted a suspect running through the lumber yard, TCSO announced.

K9 Arco with the Olympia Police responded to assist in tracking down the suspect. A TCSO sergeant saw a man matching the suspect’s description walking away from the area.

ports indicated that the suspect was extremely muddy and wet from the waist down, but dry from the waist up. Officers also noted the suspect was sweating and out of breath.

Video footage from the lumber yard shows a man with the same color pants but a different top. Later on, a TCSO deputy and his trainer located a dry jacket underneath some trees near the burglary scene.

There were burglary tools inside the pockets of the jacket, which matched the description of what the suspect was wearing in the footage.

The suspect was ultimately arrested for the alleged lumber yard burglary in Tumwater.

TCSO added that the suspect has been booked into jail 15 times before the lumber yard burglary, and had an arrest as recent as mid-December. The December arrest resulted in six counts of third-degree theft from porch pirate activity.

In October, the suspect was also arrested for second-degree burglary, trespassing, and second-degree theft.

“Great work by all the involved agencies to hold this offender accountable again,” Sheriff Sanders stated.
