The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is searching for two men caught on camera allegedly hunting while trespassing on private property.
WDFW is asking the public for help identifying the two men.
On Sunday, Sept. 20, a video captured two men rushing up to a small, dead black bear just before 7 p.m. in Oso. One person in the video carried a rifle, while the other picked up the bear and dragged it out of frame.
The video shows several “no trespassing or hunting” signs posted in the background.
“Although fall black bear season is open, the alleged subjects poached the black bear on clearly marked private property that they did not have permission to be on nor allow public hunting access,” WDFW stated.
WDFW is asking anyone with information on this case to report it. You can call (877) 933-9847, email WDFW’s poaching tip email at reportpoaching@dfw.wa.gov, or text a tip to 847411.
“Tips can be provided anonymously,” WDFW wrote. “A monetary reward or bonus points toward special hunts are available for information leading to an arrest.”
