The Seattle Police Department (SPD) is looking for six suspects involved in robbing a West Seattle cannabis store by driving a stolen vehicle through its doors, SPD reported.

The robbery occurred Friday at approximately 3:29 a.m. when SPD officers responded to an alarm in the 4800 block of California Ave. SW in West Seattle.

West Seattle cannabis shop robbery

A witness told SPD officers that six masked suspects used a gold Kia to ram the front of the store to gain entry. When officers arrived, the Kia was left at the scene.

One suspect drove the Kia into the store and assumed a look-out role for incoming police responses. The five other suspects entered the store and began grabbing merchandise.

After robbing the store, the suspects fled northbound on California Ave. SW, traveling at a high rate of speed in a silver vehicle. The suspects fled before SPD officers could arrive.

The crash caused major damage to the store. The security gate was destroyed, and the front windows were shattered.

SPD confirmed that the Kia had been reported stolen from Seattle.

Second West Seattle cannabis store robbery attempt in 24 hours

This is the second attempted burglary at a West Seattle cannabis shop in the past 24 hours. On Thursday at 4:29 a.m., a Kia was used to ram the front doors of a cannabis shop in the 4700 block of California Avenue SW.

SPD officers arrived at the smoke shop and found a black Kia Sportage halfway inside the business. The Kia was used to breach the doors of the front entrance. However, the suspects had left the area before police arrived.

The crashed Kia caused significant damage to the front doors and security gates of the cannabis shop. The suspects were not able to enter the business, and no merchandise was stolen.

No information has been provided regarding a connection between the two robberies.
