Sen. candidate Chris Vance: Republican Party needs to do ‘soul searching’

GOP Senate candidate Chris Vance took part in a panel for KTTH’s Freedom Series discussion in Kirkland on Sunday that looked at the future of the Republican Party.
Vance told the live audience that Donald Trump is leading the party toward trouble and that resting on their laurels is “dangerous.”
“I think that is the most dangerous thing right now is the potential for denial,” he said. “Obviously, what is happening with our presidential nominee the past 24 hours, if you don’t think that’s a problem, I can’t help you.”

Vance noted that polling numbers show that Republicans are not only losing among young and non-white voters, but also with affluent, suburban white voters.
“You can’t build a party with nothing but rural voters,” he said. “Right now the focus is on winning. We have 30 days and the job is to beat the Democrats right now. But as we go forward, there’s got to be a lot of soul searching in this party.”
