As a veteran, Steve Buchanan knows it’s important to connect the community with those who’ve served their country.
Last month, he launched ChooseVets.com where you can hire a veteran to be your handyman, house cleaner, or consumer laborer.
Buchanan tells KIRO Radio’s Jason Rantz Show the business is growing and he has plans to expand to Washington D.C., Dallas, Oahu, and Detroit.
He says ChooseVets goes out and recruits new employees through the National Guard, the Reserves, and transition offices, but veterans are finding them, too.
“I started a moving company a few years ago, Veteran’s Moving Company, and I found that clients have a real need for dependable labor, so they would hire the military veterans because they know that they would show up on time, know that they’re going to be honorable and act with integrity,” he says.
Buchanan says it’s hard to find a group of people who work harder than veterans. They truly want to work hard and be successful.
“Because you hired a veteran,” he says, “they’re still representing their country.”
