Note: This was all in good fun. No feelings were hurt.
KIRO Radio’s John Curley knew Ricardo Lockette had good hands, but Sunday’s performance seemed unbelievable.
Curley invited the retired Seahawk to the stage during a charity auction Saturday night prior to the Richard Sherman Celebrity Softball Tournament. Curley asked Lockette to take one of the raffle tickets, fold it in half and put it back in the pile. Then they’d all be thrown into the air. Curley pledged to donate $1,000 if Lockette caught the folded ticket.
And, as the above video shows, the former wide receiver performed a miracle catch. Except, actually, it was more of a magic trick.
Turns out, Lockette sneakily folded a second ticket. Did you see the sleight of hand?
Curley says he was writing the check backstage when he decided to verify Lockette’s veracity.
“I was about to give it to him and then I thought, ‘No way, I don’t trust him,'” Curley quipped. “I looked and found the right ticket on the ground.”
