Some Seahawks fans just want to forget Sunday night’s loss and move on, while others want to relive it and wallow in sorrow for days.

Tom and Curley are no different. They both are dealing with the Super Bowl loss in their own way. Here’s their conversation Monday morning:

“Why do you keep going over it in your head?” asked Curley. “Move on.”

“You have to relish the pain,” Tom said.

Curley replied, “I absolutely understand people’s pain on this thing. You can look at it six ways from Sunday, but it still comes down to ‘we blew it.’ Rather than run it, we passed it – we took a chance.”

Tom: “We didn’t just lose the Super Bowl, we lost history. We could have had back-to-back wins. We’ll never get that back. Even if we win next year or the year after that. Even if we become like the San Francisco Giants and win a Super Bowl every other year, that would be great. It adds to the pain. You’ve got to wallow in the pain, John. Feel it. Feel it!”

“When will you be over this?” Curley asked.

“I don’t know, 2016 maybe,” Tom said. “I don’t want to get over it, I guess. I want to acknowledge it. I think life is about living it – living the highs and living the lows.”

Curley said, “If you lose $10, it hurts you more than finding $10. Losses mean more to people than victories do. Losses stay with you for a long time.”

“I think that’s true, although in my personal experience, and this might be true of Seahawks fans, my high from last year is higher than my low for this year,” Tom said.

“I think we showed the world that the Seahawks had every right to be there,” Curley said.
