Get ready Washington for the sensational socialist and grassroots grand master himself. Redistribution rockstar Bernie Sanders is touring the Northwest this weekend.

The presidential hopeful plans to hit three cities on Sunday, March 20, including: Vancouver, Seattle, and Spokane. All events are free, but they are reserving space on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Hudson Bay High School, Vancouver. Doors open at 11 a.m.
• Key Arena, Seattle. Doors open at 2 p.m.
• Spokane Convention Center, Ballroom 111ABC. Doors open at 6 p.m.

KIRO 7 reports that Sanders intends to hit up all three rallies in one day. He has managed to take in more campaign contributions in Washington than any other candidate &#8212 Republican or Democrat. His campaign has taken in $1,683,241 so far. That’s impressive given that the money is largely coming from individual supporters and not controversial Super PACs as other candidates have used.

Love him or hate him, or if you don’t really care either way, Sanders is likely to draw a considerable crowd while in town. That crowd may include KIRO Radio’s John Curley and reporter Josh Kerns. Why?

“My son wants to go,” Curley said.

Kerns can relate to that.

“My daughter wants to go, too. But she just wants to see the spectacle. She doesn’t care if it was Trump or Kasich,” Kerns said. “I’m going because I think it is amazing how he has captivated our state and captured people, young and old, who have not been engaged in politics before. Even though, practically speaking, he doesn’t have a shot at getting the (Democratic) nomination. But they are riding this thing out. I think anybody who is able to engineer that kind of excitement and enthusiasm • I want to see the spectacle.”

“It’s amazing, I bet they will have about 10,000 people down there,” Kerns said, noting that Sanders filled up Hec Edmundson Pavilion at the University of Washington when he last visited Seattle.
