Gee Scott blames Amazon, real estate for widening racial wealth gap

Sep 11, 2025, 1:04 PM | Updated: 2:27 pm

In 2024, the gap between the highest earners and the lowest earners in Seattle was $77,700, according to a report by The Seattle Times Thursday.

Citing census data, the media outlet found Asian households had the highest median income, around $141,300, and Black households had the lowest median income, around $63,600.

KIRO host Gee Scott pointed to two factors that widened the gap: Amazon and real estate.

“Who are the money makers in tech? When you look that up, the demographics, you’ll see,” he said on “The Gee and Ursula Show” on KIRO Newsradio. “The second thing I want to point at is real estate. Real estate is the number one reason that contributes to the continuation of the wealth gap that we have.”

I support the millionaires tax. However, Democrats have a problem with this issue, and pretending it doesn’t exist isn’t going to make it disappear.
