Ask Dave and Luke: Why does the zip line have to go in Lincoln Park?

Jul 11, 2012, 2:24 PM | Updated: Oct 11, 2024, 1:22 pm

The Seattle Parks Department has withdrawn a controversial
proposal to install a zip line and high ropes course in
West Seattle’s Lincoln Park after hundreds of opponents
turned out Tuesday night for the first public meeting on
the plan. (Read

Donna writes…

Why not think outside the box and have it in a more urban
park area (for example, have two versions that start at
Seattle Center – how fun to zip over the fountain! – and
end
either at the new South Lake Union Park or the upcoming
waterfront park). Going between buildings and through the
urban environment would be a unique zip line experience
like
no other. You would feel like Spidey! Why does it have to
be
in a wooded park?

Luke: Why not a zip line from the radio station to
my
house?

Dave: I like that idea.
