Do you love your Effin home town? Facebook says that’s unacceptable

“I’m a proud Effin woman,” says 47 year old Ann Marie Kennedy of her Irish hometown.
So proud, in fact, she wants it listed as her hometown on her Facebook profile.
But the social network won’t let her. Turns out the site has a thing about profanity, and since Effin is also slang for…well…a popular F-word, Facebook has blocked the Irish hamlet from being displayed.
The Washington Post reports it’s sparked a big controversy and mini-movement as Kennedy tries to get Effin recognized.
But that’s nothing compared to some other potentially bawdy names scattered throughout the British Isles (little wonder comedian Benny Hill was so popular.)
Dave and Luke don’t understand what’s Effin wrong, especially given the others. Perhaps most impressive is hearing Dave recite some of them (while still maintaining at least a modicum of respect and decency (although the obvious effects of Luke’s influence continue to become more apparant daily…)
