Donald Trump told President Barack Obama that he had until Wednesday to turn over his college transcript and passport records to the Donald himself, but the mega-rich comb-over king has graciously extended the deadline.
“Because of the hurricane, I am extending my $5 million offer for President Obama’s favorite charity until 12 p.m. on Thursday.”
The risk? Having some piece of non-news about a bad grade in college haunt Obama right before the election. The reward? Millions of dollars going to charity.
So far, Obama hasn’t indulged Trump, famous for championing the birther movement, with his records, and that’s fine for some. Because according to KIRO Radio’s Luke Burbank, Donald Trump is the carbs (carbohydrates) of the news cycle.
“Should we just give up Donald Trump?” asked Luke. “Everything he does is to enrage people like me and mystify folks in the media who will then talk about him.”
As long as his name is out there, said Luke, he has value.
“Giving up Donald Trump would be difficult, because like carbs, it’s delicious in its own way but it just leaves you feeling kind of puffy and a little let down the next day.”
Luke feels like it’s the day after he’s eaten an entire bowl of potato chips, when he and Dave talk about the Donald. It’s delicious when it’s happening, but afterwards is another story.
