KIRO Weekends: A Foodie’s Dream

Jul 5, 2012, 6:49 PM | Updated: Oct 11, 2024, 10:40 am

We have some big news for you — especially if you love food! Starting this weekend, July 7 and 8, we have a brand new 97.3 KIRO FM weekend lineup and you’re going to love the new block of programming that focuses on the tremendous food and wine scene the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

72556You asked, and we listened: Seattle Kitchen with Chefs Tom Douglas and Thierry Rautureau is now TWO hours long! They’re now heard from 2pm-4pm on Saturdays and 10am-noon on Sundays. Listen each week as the chefs offer up delicious recipes, worthy restaurant recommendations, and must-hear chef insights into a variety of ingredients.

Want to know where to go to dinner tonight, or breakfast tomorrow? You’ll love LET’S EAT with Terry Jaymes and Seattle Times restaurant critic Providence Cicero heard every Saturday at 4pm and Sunday at noon. Terry has quickly become a Seattle foodie, mostly because his wife drags him to just about every restaurant in town. Providence makes a living off of finding the city’s gems. Together, Terry and Providence take a deep dive into the Seattle food scene, telling you the best places to eat in town, plus the places (and dishes) to avoid!

73353Fan of wine? Then you can’t miss NORTHWEST VINE TIME every Saturday at 6pm. Join host Brian Bushlach as he goes behind the scenes of the Pacific Northwest’s best wineries.

Of course, the weekend isn’t just about food and wine. We’ve added Star Talk with Neil deGrasse Tyson — it’s devoted to all things space, and is heard Sundays 8pm-10pm! Home Matters — our popular home improvement show — is moving to Saturdays at 8am. Sean DeTore is hosting is very own show with Ron and Don Show Remix (Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 5pm), plus tech show Geekwire is now heard Saturday at 7am and 9pm, and Sunday at 8am and 2pm.
