Dante Autullo was sure he’d merely cut himself with a nail gun while building a shed, and thought doctors were joking when they told him what an X-ray revealed: A 3 1/4-inch nail was lodged in the middle of his brain.
“When they brought in the picture, I said to the doctor ‘Is this a joke? Did you get that out of the doctors joke file?'” the 32-year-old recalled. “The doctor said ‘No man, that’s in your head.’
What does someone do when they see an x-ray photo that shows a nail in thier brain?
“Of course he did what any thinking person would do, he put it up on the internet,” said 97.3 KIRO FM Ross and Burbank host Luke Burbank.
The Associated Press reports when Autullo was rushed by ambulance to another hospital for surgery, he posted a picture of the X-ray on Facebook.
“Which end of the hammer do you use to pull this one out?” said Burbank. “You want to really back that out very slowly.”

Dave Ross says he’ll be taking precautions next time he works with a nail gun.
“I’m wearing a hard hat or something,” said Ross.
Autullo is recovering after undergoing surgery at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill. where doctors removed the nail.
