Mayor McGinn feels gratified WA not asking Seattle to cover tunnel toll shortfall
Around $400 million of the cost for the highway 99 viaduct replacement tunnel was supposed to come from tolls. Even after the state cut that goal to $200 million, traffic diversion concerns have some concerned tolls won't even earn that much. With the percentage of the project cost being covered by tolls dropping, Seattle's mayor Mike McGinn says he's pleased he made it clear Seattle won't be on the hook.14 years ago
