Rachel Belle takes in the craziness of Super Bowl media day

Super Bowl Media Day: when a huge mob of radio, tv and newspaper reporters, bloggers, podcasters and photographers stuff themselves into a room with a handful of NFL Players sitting behind podiums and scream questions at them. Many of them, totally random.
It is hectic, it is chaotic, and it is hard to get your microphone close enough to the mouths of the players.
Don’t you wish you could hear Richard Sherman talking about what music he listens to before a game? Yeah, me too.
But I was able to squeeze myself in and get close to a couple guys.
The Patriots had their media availability first, and I got my microphone in front of Brandon Browner – the former Seahawk who said he wanted his teammates to break Richard Sherman’s elbow during the Super Bowl
He said Richard Sherman responded to this with a simple text that said LOL.
And Browner is feisty. A network reporter asked him if winning the Super Bowl comes down to really wanting the win. He asked Browner if he wants it. Browner thought that was a stupid question.
But of course, the most coveted interview of all was Marshawn Lynch who is famous for dodging the media.
And he didn’t disappoint – unless you are disappointed by Marshawn Lynch answering every single question with this phrase:
“I’m just here so I don’t get fined,” Lynch said.
He smiled through the whole thing, and the only time he broke was when the female reporter in front of me presented him with bags of Skittles. He said thank you and then said “you sexy too.”
Marshawn set a timer on his phone when he sat down and when the alarm buzzed exactly five minutes late, he got up and left.

Next stop was Richard Sherman, and I was able to congratulate him on the baby he’s expecting with his girlfriend.
And I caught Russell Wilson talking about the music he listens to before a game
And then, suddenly, after 2 hours, it was over. I was given a media swag bag on the way out. It contained men’s body wash and some really salty chips.
