A Deadly Bellevue Case and the System That Failed
A shocking case in King County is raising serious questions about Washington’s mental health system. Prosecutors say Mark Alexander Adams deliberately drove his car into an 88-year-old woman in a Bellevue parking lot, killing her. Authorities allege he later struck other people with his vehicle the same day.
During a court appearance, Adams made bizarre claims about his identity, saying he was the “King of Monaco” and the “Supreme Allied Commander of the United States Armed Forces.” Court records show Adams previously had violent incidents, including threats against family members and past commitment to Western State Hospital.
