How Did CPS Decide This Child Was “Not in Danger”?
For months, a nine-year-old boy lived in a tent along Aurora Avenue surrounded by fentanyl use, human waste, and strangers coming and going at all hours. Child Protective Services and Seattle Police documented the conditions and repeatedly determined the child was not in “imminent danger.”
Nothing changed. Then KIRO Newsradio published its investigation. Within hours, officials returned. The tent was abandoned. The child was gone.
