Makkee Dessert bringing its sweet treats to downtown Bellevue

Makkee Dessert is opening in downtown Bellevue, marking the Chinese chain’s first location in the state, the Downtown Bellevue Network reported.
A soft-opening period is going on until tomorrow, with service happening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The shop is located at 10797 Main St. on the retail level of the Surrey on Main apartments. Sugar n Flakes Bakery & Cafe, which has since closed, most recently occupied the space, the article noted.
The eatery specializes in Asian-style dessert soups and traditional sweets, served in bowls of jellies, beans, fruit, and other toppings covered in milk.
According to the article, the brand is a rebranded version of Mai Ji Milk, which operates about 1,000 stores in China. Its U.S. shops are in Rowland Heights, San Gabriel, downtown Los Angeles, Irvine, and Mountain View, California, as well as in Flushing, New York. Two additional locations are expected to open in Brooklyn and San Jose.
