I found out about Seattle’s own Tangerine a few weeks ago while I was scouring the line-up for the BIGassBOOMBOX Seattle Festival which is happening this coming January 3rd and 4th. If you’re out of the loop, the BIGassBOOMBOX Festival Seattle was inspired by the BIGassBOOMBOX Festival Portland, it’s being put on by another local band, The Hoot Hoots, and will be “…showcasing some of the best music and literary talent that this city has to offer…”. Oh, and it’s FREE!

Ok, back to Tangerine, my latest band crush. The quartet have been on the scene for only a year and have already garnered much praise from The Guardian, BUST Magazine, KEXP, NME and The Stranger to name just a few of the publications who, like me, are crushing pretty hard on this band on the rise.

Radical Blossom is the latest EP from the group and album opener, “Feel This Way”, is a blissfully dreamy jam that has me lusting for the warmth and comfort of a perfect summer day while simultaneously making my heart swell with pangs of the hope of romance.

I had the chance to catch up with Tangerine and we had a chat about music, Booze Caboose’s, music videos and we learn that one of the band members is lactose intolerant. They also played a song live in-studio called “Northern Line” that you will absolutely love. Listen here.

Tangerine open for The Physics this Saturday, Dec. 21st and you can purchase tickets here.

ALSO!

Catch them this January 4th at the BIGassBOOMBOX Festival Seattle which is FREE!
