An eventful week that began with Inauguration Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day falling on the same day has come to an end and the weekend has arrived. So, let’s take a look at some Seattle weekend events to see what kind of fun can be had.
How good are you at jigsaw puzzles? Do you think you are particularly speedy when it comes to solving them? You’ll want to head to the DuPont community center for the Speed Puzzle Competition! Not only will you work with your team of four, there will be a diner-themed dinner and a puzzle swap. A fee of $40 will cover teams that include folks ages 10 and up. Plus, there are prizes for winning. Visit dupontwa.gov to get more details.
Enthusiasts can celebrate the mascot of the Pacific Northwest, Sasquatch, at the 2025 edition of sQuatch Fest. This is happening at the Cowlitz County Event Center in Longview and features presentations from Sasquatch experts, vendors, educational activities, movies and a Kids Cave for the young explorers. The event started Friday and continues Saturday. Those curious can get details and tickets at kelsolongviewchamber.org/squatchfest/ and tickets through Ticket Tomato.
Celebrate the new year with these Seattle weekend events
New Year Celebrations also continue this weekend. At Seattle Center, specifically the Armory Food and Event Hall, is Tết, also known as the Vietnamese Lunar Year. There will be lion dances, food and a health fair for those who want to start the year off right. This is both Saturday and Sunday and is free to attend.
On Sunday at Westlake Park in Seattle, revelers can celebrate the Year of the Snake with a lion dance. Also, there will be giveaways and free drinks and treats while they last. This is also a free event and the fun begins at 11 a.m. More details are available at downtownseattle.org.

The famous Harlem Globetrotters are back in town at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle Sunday. Don’t miss out on all the trick shots, big-time dunks and the craziest ball handling skills in the game of basketball. Parents: This is a perfect way to spend an afternoon downtown with the family. Head to climatepledgearena.com to get details and tickets for Sunday’s show. The Globetrotters will also perform in Everett next Friday, Jan. 31, and in Kent on Sunday, Feb. 2.
More Seattle weekend events: Go shopping and have a bite
For those folks who are looking to do a little shopping this weekend, the 4th on 4th Flea Market is happening in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood. This monthly event takes place on the 4th Sunday of the month. There will be plenty of antique and vintage goods to browse, plus goods made by local vendors. In addition, there will be drinks served by event partners. So, attendees will be able to sip while they shop. Get more details at foundmarket.net.
The Fremont Bridge Night Market takes place in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and this edition is the Winter Feast. That means lots of food trucks, patio heaters and a covered space so no one has to worry if any rain shows up. If it has been a while since you’ve been to Fremont, pay the troll a visit and do a little shopping.
