Sumner’s Ziegele Smile Studio is expanding its annual Smiles for Kids: Tooth Fairy Day — Small Smiles, Big Futures event through a new partnership with the Randall Morris Foundation for Youth and Families and NFL Alumni Pacific Northwest.
The gathering will be held at the Ziegele Smile Studio from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 13.
For the past decade, Ziegele Smile Studio’s namesake founder, April Ziegele, has opened the business’s doors one day a year to offer free dental care to children whose families might otherwise lack access to treatment. This year, children will be greeted with encouragement and support from former NFL players, who will spend the day helping young patients feel brave, welcomed, and celebrated.
“For the past 10 years, this day has never been just about dentistry,” said Ziegele in a press release. “It’s about restoring confidence, easing fear, and reminding every child that they are seen, valued and loved. A healthy smile can change the way a child sees themselves, and that’s something truly priceless.”
Volunteer dentists and clinical teams will donate approximately $80,000 in dental care, providing children with the same comprehensive treatment they would receive at a regular appointment.
