Wagyu House to replace Din Tai Fung at Lincoln Square in Bellevue

Wagyu House, an all-you-can-eat upscale Japanese wagyu barbecue eatery, will open in Bellevue by the end of 2026 or in the first quarter of 2027, the restaurant’s parent company, Chubby Group, confirmed.

Wagyu House will be Chubby Group’s third location in the greater Puget Sound area. The company also owns and operates Mama Xita BBQ in Bellevue and Wagyu Factory in North Seattle. In total, Chubby Group has 20 total restaurant concepts across 15 states.

There are three Wagyu Houses in operation across the country — in Atlanta, Chicago, and Houston. In addition to a new location in Seattle, Wagyu House expects to have a new location in New Jersey.

Wagyu House will move into Level 2 of Lincoln Square North at The Bellevue Collection in Downtown Bellevue, taking over the space Din Tai Fung occupied for 14 years.

Wagyu House is a yakiniku restaurant, a style of Japanese barbecue where guests grill their own meat at the table. The Puget Sound Business Journal reported that it declined to comment on why the restaurant has taken more than two years to open.

Nobu coming to Bellevue next year

Wagyu House is not the only prominent Asian restaurant brand moving into Bellevue.

Nobu, a luxury restaurant and hotel brand co-founded by Robert De Niro and celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa, previously announced it is coming to Bellevue — its first location in the Pacific Northwest.

Nobu plans to convert two residential towers at Avenue Bellevue into Nobu Residences and open a 10,000-square-foot Nobu restaurant in 2027. When completed, it will be the first move-in-ready Nobu-branded residential development in the U.S. Nobu also plans to have residences in Miami and Orlando.

Over the last four decades, Nobu has expanded into an international empire of restaurants, hotels, and residential properties. Nobu has more than 50 restaurants and 19 properties, with 28 more in various stages of development.
