The 12th Man is the subject of high-end art hanging in a Seattle gallery.
Artist Robin Layton said she has over 50,000 photographs from the Seahawks’ 2013-14 season and the Super Bowl celebrations in Seattle. Only 18 of them, modified to look like impressionist paintings, are featured in the exhibit.
“I have a few of the players, I have some that were shot in puddles. I have a lot of the fans in the stands. It’s just to honor the spirit of the 12th Man.”
Layton said she loves how the team has united the city.
“The 12th Man, our fans, are the greatest fans in the whole word. They’re so dedicated,” she said.
Layton is thrilled for Wednesday night’s exhibit opening and plans to wear vintage football pants and a custom-made jersey.
The exhibit opens at Winston Wachter Fine Art Gallery, located at 203 Dexter Ave. North, from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and runs through February 25.
You can take home Layton’s art for anywhere from $3,000 to $9,000 per piece.
