After more than a week of searching, a stolen dog is back home with his family.

According to the Kirkland Police Department, Parker, a 14-year-old Shiba Inu, was taken from outside the QFC in Kirkland on June 7.

Over the weekend, police released higher-quality images of people believed to be connected to the theft. The department shared that community support played a key role in finding Parker.

“Although Parker has been safely recovered, the investigation remains active,” the Kirkland Police Department wrote. “We appreciate the community’s assistance and are thankful for this happy ending.”

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue working to identify those involved.

Kirkland police sought public’s help in dog theft

Just before 11 p.m. on June 7, Parker was reported stolen after the dog was left tethered outside a QFC in the Kirkland urban area for a brief period while a family member went inside. When the family member returned moments later, the dog was nowhere to be found.

The family shared that Parker is 14 years old and has ongoing health concerns that require care and monitoring.

A week later, the Kirkland Police Department obtained and shared higher-quality images related to Parker’s theft, including photos of suspects. Two days after the photos were published, the dog was found and reunited with his family.

The Shiba Inu was missing for nearly 10 days before he was found.
