Hot weekend temperatures break records

Temperatures across the Puget Sound region nearly reached 100 degrees on Sunday.
The National Weather Service reports Sea-Tac Airport reached 96 degrees, tying the highest temperature record for June. The record was last set on June 30, 1995.
It was even warmer in the South Sound. Olympia reached 98 degrees before 5 p.m. on Sunday, tying the record highest temperature for June last set on June 18, 1982.
Cooler ocean air will work in starting Sunday night into Monday, but it will still be warm around Puget Sound with highs in the low 80s. The marine push will be stronger for Tuesday and will bring more cloud cover and highs around 70.
The National Weather Service notes the “slithering” fog will reach the interior by Monday.
