After frustrating loss to Rams, Russell Wilson promises brighter days ahead

Things are only going to get better for the Seattle Seahawks, according to quarterback Russell Wilson.
Just hours after the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Hawks 9-3 in Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Wilson tweeted a simple yet hopeful message to his followers.

Of course, Wilson tweeted that out prior to the announcement that the Seahawks would lose a draft pick and practice time for yet another violation of no-contact rules.
Let’s hope Wilson is right. The Seahawks struggled to gain momentum Sunday against the Rams. 710 ESPN’s Danny O’Neil reports the Hawks crossed midfield just three times and only drove the ball past their own 39-yard-line in the second half once before their final possession. The offense also saw injuries of varying degrees to running back Thomas Rawls and receivers Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett.
The Seahawks, according to O’Neil, haven’t scored so few points since they lost 6-3 to the Cleveland Browns.
One of the biggest concerns is that the Hawks have only scored 15 points in the first two weeks of the regular season. Their three points against the Rams adds to the 12 they earned against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 11.
“I never could have thought that we would go the first couple weeks and not score but one touchdown,” coach Pete Carroll said after the Rams game. “I’m just surprised at that. We’re better than that.”
Wilson, who gritted through a high-ankle sprain, says the Rams’ defense is tough.
“The Miami Dolphins’ defensive line is as good as it gets,” Wilson said after the game. “The Rams, same thing. They’re an active group. They do tons of stuff. It’s one of the hardest defenses we’ll face all year.”
Unfortunately for the Hawks on Sunday, the Rams weren’t cowering like they have in the past.
The Seahawks play the 49ers next. That should be a relief for a team that has recently won — if not crushed — their rivals in San Francisco. The trouble is, the 49ers beat the Rams 28-0 in Week 1.
