Amber Alert canceled; missing Vancouver boy found safe

Police issued an Amber Alert for a missing 9-year-old Vancouver, Wash. boy late Tuesday, who has now been found.

Clark County dispatchers say he was found safe at 4:18 a.m. Wednesday in Hood River, Oregon.

Amberalert.com tweeted the boy was camping with his father.

Andrey Voronenko was believed to be with his father, who police said is a diagnosed paranoid schitzophrenic. It’s unknown if he uses drugs, but police were concerned for the boy’s safety.

Police in Vancouver said the boy’s father, Alexy Voronenko, 38, picked up his son Tuesday afternoon at Mill Plain Elementary in Vancouver, where the boy and his mother were living. The two fled while Alexy was imprisoned in Texas for domestic violence, according to police.
