Another traffic nightmare weekend expected in Seattle

It is going to be rough trying to get around Seattle this weekend. There are some major events and one huge road closure to get in your way.
The I-5 on and off ramps to Mercer Street are going to be closed from 11 o’clock Friday night until 5 a.m. on Monday. The city will be re-paving, striping, installing guardrails and putting-up new overhead signs.
The traffic around Seattle Saturday will be especially bad. The Mariners host the Yankees in the early afternoon. The Sounders host the Vancouver Whitecaps in the evening, and there are a bunch of other events that will be attracting people to downtown.
You’re encouraged to carpool, use transit or give yourself plenty of extra time to get around.
