Arlington man arrested in death of older sister

A 50-year-old Arlington man has been arrested in the murder of his 53-year-old sister.

The woman’s body was found Sunday after her son called police when she failed to return calls and emails.

Shari Ireton, with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, said the son went to his uncle for help and found his mom’s car on the property. He then called police.

“They conducted a search of the property and during that search they found the body of a woman out in a field covered by a blanket,” said Ireton.

Ireton said she doesn’t know what led up to the killing, but the siblings’ mother had died in an accident over the weekend
