Armed teen robbers targeting middle schoolers

Police are watching Roxhill Park in West Seattle carefully after two groups of middle-school-aged kids were robbed at gunpoint.
In the first incident Sunday evening, two young men with a shotgun approached four youngsters at Roxhill Park.
Mark Jamieson, with Seattle Police, says the kids were robbed of their cash and cell phones.
The robber with the shotgun reportedly hit two students in the head with the butt of the gun. The students were cut and bruised but not seriously hurt.
Police say that on Tuesday afternoon, two men with handguns robbed a group of five middle-school students in the park, again taking cash and cell phones.
“[The] second time they were wearing bandanas on their faces. Unfortunately, we don’t have a better description,” says Jamieson.
The victims say the robbers appeared to be about 16 or 17 years old.
Seattle Public Schools says it will be sending information about the robberies to the homes of all students who attend school in the area.
