The King County Prosecutor’s Office filed a first degree murder charge in one of the deadly shootings at the former Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP) zone. This is from the fatal shooting on June 20, which left a 19-year-old dead.

A warrant’s been issued for the arrest of 18-year-old Marcel Levon Long, who is still on the run and remains at large. He is charged with first-degree murder with a firearm enhancement.

Police are still searching for suspects in the June 29 shooting that killed a 16 year-old-boy and injured a 14-year-old.

The charge filed against Long is also a separate incident from the June 20 non-fatal shooting detailed on the SPD Blotter. For that case, SPD Violent Crimes detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying several persons of interest in a shooting on June 20 at 11th Avenue and East Pike Street.

Long’s arraignment is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the King County Courthouse. Anyone in the public can follow the case through court documents in the Electronic Court Records system.
