‘Evidence of transient activity’ found inside scorched home near Aurora

Firefighters responded to the house fire in the 7300 block of Aurora Avenue N. around 4:30 a.m. Neighbors say the house is one of three properties that have been boarded up for some time, KIRO 7 reports. (KIRO 7)

Southbound Highway 99 near Green Lake reopened around 6:40 a.m. Friday morning, after firefighters blocked all lanes to respond to a blaze at a vacant house.
The road was closed near Winona Avenue for the response the fire in the 7300 block of Aurora Avenue N. The fire started around 4:30 a.m.
Neighbors say the house is one of three properties that have been boarded up for some time, KIRO 7 reports. The area is being redeveloped and the home is slated for demolition.
KIRO 7 reports neighbors have been complaining about squatters for months.
Though investigators were unable to determine the exact cause of the fire, the Seattle Fire Department reports there is “evidence of transient activity.”
