Washington State Department of Transportation crews had an unexpected observer while plowing snowy roads near Colville earlier this week.

That came in the form of a bobcat spotted directly along the SR 20 “near the Beaver Lodge west of Tiger,” WSDOT described on Twitter.

“Plow made a few passes through the area and the bobcat sat and watched (although at times uninterested),” it added.

Those who spied the bobcat in person estimated that it was “larger than it looked” in photos posted to social media, weighing in at 35-45 pounds.

“Much larger than your typical house cat,” WSDOT noted.
