Boeing makes splash at Farnborough

Incoming commercial airplanes CEO Ray Conner stepped into his new role by opening the Farnborough Air Show with the annual Boeing briefing, updating international reporters on state of the company and its goals for the future.
Conner confirmed that the 737 MAX is still on-target for first flight in 2016 and first delivery in 2017.
He also inked a deal with long-time client Air Lease Corporation for 75 of the new MAX’s. The firm order is worth an estimated $7.2 billion, and it’s the first MAX order by a leasing company.
Boeing Vice President of Marketing Randy Tinseth told MyNorthwest.com from London, “I think it’s better than a nice order, I mean, when you’re talking 75 airplanes at a value of over $7 billion I think that’s a great order.”
Boeing has orders and commitments for more than a thousand of the planes.
