Boeing slowly hits restart button in Washington

Boeing is hitting the restart button at its Puget Sound plants today, ramping production back up after a three-and-a-half week closure.
It’s going to be a staggered return for about 27,000 Puget Sound Boeing employees. Workers on the 737, 747, 767, and 777 will start returning on the third shift Monday night, with most everyone else returning by Tuesday.
787 workers will start back up on third shift Thursday. About 2,500 employees working on the 767 tanker returned to work last week. Those that have been working from home will continue to do so.
Employees should expect new regulations when they get back to the factory floors. There will be temperature and wellness checking, a lot more hand washing stations, and employees will be required to wear masks.
Personal protective equipment will also be provided to workers where social distancing cannot be guaranteed. The shuttle system from parking lots will also be altered, with only one worker allowed per row of seating.
Boeing’s production operations in South Carolina remain closed.
