After many years operating express routes between Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver BC, BoltBus will now add stops in Tacoma and Everett.

KIRO 7 reports that the popular bright orange BoltBus service will add a stop in Tacoma along its Seattle-Portland route starting March 11. The stop in Everett will begin at the same time, which is between Seattle and Vancouver BC. There will be 64 departures each week from Tacoma and 48 weekly trips out of Everett.
BoltBus is operated by Greyhound, but unlike that service, it offers direct — and often cheap — travel between Portland, Seattle, and many other cities. Its current West Coast stops include: Albany; Bellingham; Eugene; Portland; Seattle; and Vancouver BC.
The company boasts benefits such as wi-fi, extra leg room, and power outlets.
KIRO 7 points out that while BoltBus offers cheaper fare compared to many other forms of transportation, it’s all relative. The trip from Seattle to Tacoma comes in at $16. That same trip on Sound Transit’s express bus costs $3.75. Also, the bus from Tacoma to Portland costs between $18-$35 (as of March 12). A ride on Amtrak’s Cascade line to Portland starts at $21.
Another factor to note is that BoltBus’ prices can vary depending on the time of day and when a booking is made. As of Monday morning, a March 13 trip from Seattle to Vancouver BC (which includes a stop in Everett and Bellingham) has four departures ranging from one dollar to $25.
