Both directions of I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass were closed early Friday morning after a series of crashes and collisions between six semi-trucks and four cars. One fatality is confirmed.
Westbound lanes reopened at 12:35 p.m. and eastbound lanes reopened just before 8 p.m.
Westbound and Eastbound lanes were closed around 5:45 a.m.
Cleanup for Eastbound lanes was slowed down by the removal of four commercial vehicles and a pickup truck, and the cleanup of an oil spill, both of which took “longer than expected” according to Washington State Trooper John Bryant.
Washington State Patrol reports:
- Six collisions involving three semi-trucks and three cars on westbound I-90.
- One large collision in the eastbound lanes that involved three semi-trucks and one car.
- There is one confirmed fatality from the eastbound collision.

Rain and snow are falling on the pass, adding to icy road conditions.
#UPDATE: WB90 MP 62 there are 6 collisions (3 semi & 3 cars). EB90 MP 61 there is 1 big collision scene. (3 semi and 1 car). There is a 1 confirmed fatality in the EB collision.
