Brazen thieves steal thousands of Wii video game consoles

It sounds like the plot for a video game. But the theft of more than 7,000 Wii video game consoles is very real. Investigators say it’s a heist worth $2 million.
The King County Sheriff’s Office says thieves broke into a Seattle Air Cargo warehouse in SeaTac sometime between 9 p.m. Saturday night and noon Sunday. They used forklifts to load at least 64 pallets of Wii consoles into two stolen 53-foot trailers and a box van, then drove off.
“I can’t remember ever hearing about something like this. This is something you hear in the movies that’s pretty elaborate where people go in and steal warehouses full of stuff,” says Sgt. Cindi West.
West says both of the tractor trailers are white in color and have the name “McKinney” on the side.
The box van is a large International van with “Seattle Air Cargo” written on the doors.
“The next step is just to track these trailers down, try to find somebody who saw something, maybe have seen the trailers around. Maybe the truck. Once we find those hopefully it will give us a bit more of a clue what happened to these consoles,” West says.
