A Navy sailor based in Bremerton, Wash., was killed outside a nightclub in Seattle Sunday, the Navy confirmed Tuesday.
Petty Officer 3rd Class Gregory Wayne Anderson Jr., 25, of Fresno, Texas was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz as a member of the magazine crew, responsible for weapons stowage and assembly.
Anderson was fatally shot in the torso after a fight erupted outside a club in the 2900 block of First Avenue South in Seattle.
“When officers arrived they encountered a pretty chaotic scene,” said Renee Witt with the Seattle Police Department, who added that two other men suffered minor cuts and scrapes during the fight. She said the crowd outside was “less than cooperative with police.”
If you have any information, you are asked to call 911 or the Seattle Police Department’s Homicide Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
