Seattle Police served warrants on homes in Shoreline and Mountlake Terrace on Thursday, arresting three people, and seizing multiple kilos of drugs, cash, and guns from a suspected drug trafficking ring.

Addiction and human trafficking are driving the Seattle drug war

In total, detectives seized 8.5 pounds of heroin, 19.4 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.42 pounds of cocaine, around 69,000 oxycodone and fentanyl pills, a stolen handgun, a stolen rifle, a stolen ballistic vest, and over $113,000 in cash.

SPD touted the bust as key to helping disrupt the flow of illegal drugs.

“Being able to get this quantity of drugs off the street is actually a big deal, because we interrupt the supply chain now,” Detective Patrick Michaud told KIRO Radio.

One of the three suspects arrested attempted to flee during the bust, leaping off of a second-floor balcony. Another threw packages of meth out a window. The suspects were booked into King County Jail on weapons and drug charges.

This marked the second major drug ring bust in the Greater Seattle Area in the last two weeks. Last Wednesday, police raided a drug-dealing encampment in Seattle, recovering weapons, and “varying quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, and pills,” as well as nearly a pound of crack cocaine.

Warrants at the time were served at two tent encampment locations and three residences, as Seattle detectives with the major crimes task force teamed up with bike cops, SWAT, K9 units, and other anti-crime team officers.
