A driver died in a crash Monday night in Shoreline after their car caught fire, the King County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

At approximately 10 p.m., King County deputies were called to respond to the crash, which occurred near N.W. 205th Street and 3rd Avenue N.W. According to the sheriff’s office, the driver crashed into a fire hydrant and a fence, leading to the car catching fire.

The driver died after they were brought to Harborview Medical Center.

The cause of the crash and the manner of death are under investigation.
