Two children were injured in a crash involving an e-scooter and a car on Friday afternoon, and one of those children is fighting for their life.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, two children were riding e-scooters heading eastbound on Center Road, off of 4th Ave W, near Glen at North Creek Mariner High School, when they were hit by a car.

The crash happened around 2:22 p.m. on Oct. 23.

The 5-year-old has life-threatening injuries and a 16-year-old e-scooter rider has serious injuries. Both were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center.

The driver and two young children inside the vehicle had minor injuries.

It’s unclear what led up to the crash.

Center Road in Everett will remain closed for several hours while investigators process the scene and conduct their investigation.

This is a developing story.
