Seattle Police say Sunday before 6:00 a.m., a suspect living in a boarding house wanted to borrow the victim’s car. The victim stated that the suspect was not licensed to drive.

Later on, the suspect got into the victim’s room through an unlocked door and slashed the right side of the victim’s face with a stainless steel meat cleaver, causing potential permanent disfigurement and profuse bleeding.

Police say the suspect barricaded himself in the basement, where he was contained by arriving patrol units. The suspect was booked into jail for assault.

Suspect tries setting cops on fire

Saturday night, Seattle Police Officers responded to reports of trespass at a North Precinct Inn. The suspect was in an employee-only restroom, refusing to leave. Officers tried to convince the man to leave, but he wouldn’t.

Officers entered the room to arrest the suspect. The suspect armed himself with a lighter and an aerosol can and tried to light officers on fire using the aerosol can and lighter but was unsuccessful.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault. No injuries were reported.

Propane tanks cause explosions at International District encampment

Seattle Fire requested help from Seattle Police regarding a large encampment fire at 10th Avenue South and South Dearborn Street early Saturday morning. While on the scene, 10 to 12 propane tanks exploded.

Seattle Fire informed officers that this was the second large fire at the encampment recently. The last fire there included issues of propane tank explosions, as well as firearm ammunition exploding as it was exposed to flames.

Detectives arrest two in connection to multiple car dealership robberies

Bellevue Police Detectives arrested a 29-year-old man and 24-year-old woman on Friday in connection to multiple car thefts from car dealerships across the state.

According to investigators, on Aug. 2, the pair drove a suspected stolen vehicle to a Bellevue dealership and asked the salesperson to move a similar car to compare with theirs. The duo then asked for the Carfax report, and when the salesman returned, both vehicles were gone.

Detectives believe this duo is responsible for many other area thefts. Both have felony warrants for their arrest in Moses Lake on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and attempting to elude police.

Moses Lake police arrested both suspects, and after they bailed out of jail, they failed to appear for their court dates.

During a search warrant at the couple’s hotel, detectives recovered a stolen BMW, a stolen gun, various key fobs, and multiple pieces of suspected stolen credit cards, checks, and IDs.
